Carroll Michael Prather, age 75 of Harrisburg, passed away at 10:45 AM, Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.
Mike was born on June 12, 1947 in Harrisburg, to the late Cleo James and Thelma Ruth (Washam) Prather. He married Pamela Jane May on July 15, 1966, and she preceded him in death on May 21, 2010. Mike served his country in the United States Army, he was stationed in Bamberg, Germany during the Vietnam War. Mike worked as a coal miner, and served as a former Commander of the American Legion George Hart Post 167 where he was a member. Mike was also a member of the Harley Owners Group “H.O.G.”. His passion was riding motorcycles, particularly Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Mike is survived by his son, Eric Prather and wife, Chandra of Eldorado, Illinois; grandson, Christian Stanley of Troy, Alabama, and granddaughter, Chaitlyn Foos and husband Johnny of Eldorado, Illinois.
Military rites will be conducted at 10:45 AM, Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Harrisburg American Legion by the Army National Guard, the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, and the VFW. A celebration of life dinner will be held immediately follow at the Harrisburg American Legion.
