Carolyn Kendall Obituary

     Carolyn Sue Kendall, age 83 of Harrisburg, passed away at 8:25 AM, Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Saline Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family.   

     Sue was born on November 25, 1941 in Harrisburg to the late Rev. Kenneth and Helen (Guess) Roberts.  On March 14, 1964 she married Max Kendall and he preceded her in death on August 19, 2022.  Sue was a member of Mizpah General Baptist Church.  She worked for many years as a secretary, working for Dr. Montgomery, Dr. Ewell and Dr. Warren.  Sue was an avid Harrisburg Bulldog fan and loved working in her vegetable garden.  Sue loved her family dearly; she was loved and known by everyone as “Mama Sue”.  She loved her “Brownie”.

     Sue is survived by two children, a daughter, Monti Jones and husband Larry of Harrisburg; daughter, Marci Byrd of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Amanda Stovall and husband Shane of Carrier Mills; Aaron Horton and wife Raven of Carrier Mills; Dylan Byrd of Harrisburg; Devyn Byrd of Harrisburg; Jada Jones of Columbia, Missouri; eight great grandchildren, Briley, Kiley and Makenna Stovall of Carrier Mills; Easton Grimes, Audriana and Colt Horton of Carrier Mills; Weston and Wrenlee Byrd of Harrisburg; and brother, Kenny Roberts and wife Ann of Harrisburg.         

     In addition to her parents and husband Max, Sue was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Roberts.

     Graveside services for Carolyn Sue Kendall will be held at 11 AM, Friday, February 7, 2025 at Liberty Cemetery Harrisburg. Rev. John Tucker will officiate and burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Immediately following services, a time of food and fellowship will be held at Mizpah Church.
