Brenda Mae (Thompson) Rann

    Brenda Mae Rann, age 79 of Harrisburg, Illinois passed away at 3:45 PM, Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Shawnee Rose Care Center.

     Brenda was born on April 13, 1943 in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late Earl and Juanita (Hankins) Thompson. In June of 1961 she married Ronald Rann and he preceded her in death on October 29, 2022. Brenda was a homemaker and was a great one. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing, knitting and crochet. Brenda made all of her children’s clothing as kids. She also loved to cook and can goods that were grown from her garden. Brenda loved to grow flowers in her garden. She was an inspiration to many people. Brenda loved babysitting for family and neighborhood kids. She was a General Baptist by faith.

     Brenda is survived by her children, daughter, Ronita Murrie of Harrisburg; son, Ronald Rann Jr of Evansville; son-in-law, Chris Reed of Harrisburg; six grandchildren; Jeremy Reed and wife Naomi of Middlesex, North Carolina; Josh Reed and wife Valerie of Arvada, Colorado; Rachel Murrie and fiancé, Cody Murphy of Thompsonville, Illinois; Jenny Murrie and fiancé, Tyler Atkisson of Marion, Illinois; Alexis Flower and husband Ricky of Crestview, Florida; Brittney Robey and husband Kyle of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; great grandchildren Aurora Reed, Emma Flower, Cedric Johnson, Kenton, Benjamin and Liliet Robey; sister Earlene Abbott and husband Robert of McLeansboro, Illinois; sister-in-law, Ruby Bronke of Tamroa, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.

      In addition to her husband, Ronald and parents, Brenda was preceded in death by a daughter, Trudy Reed; son-in-law, Jeff Murrie; brother, Jessie Earl Thompson.

      A memorial graveside service will be held at 3 PM, Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg and Rev. Robert Abbott will officiate.
