Bob Kennedy

     Bob Kennedy age 63, of Harrisburg passed away on July 30, 2024 at 7:05 PM at his residence.

     Bob was born on April 30, 1961 in Harrisburg to the late Merritt “Buzz” and Shirley Ann (Johnson) Kennedy. He worked as an operating engineer out of the Marion local 318. Bob was an outdoorsman who loved to take rides on his four-wheeler and go hiking, and fishing. He was a good soul, a good friend to many, and a loving brother and uncle.

     Bob is survived by his brother, Joe Kennedy and wife Denise of Harrisburg, sister, Jo Anne Kennedy of Indianapolis, Indiana; nieces and nephews, Jordan Ingram and husband Brandon of Herrin, Madison Kennedy and significant other Preston Simpson of Harrisburg, Nikki Jones and husband Chris of Benton, Kentucky, and Eric Wenzel of Harrisburg; and great nieces and nephews, Jaxson Kennedy of Herrin, Scotlynn Kinsey of Herrin, Gabe Jones of Benton, Kentucky, and Lucus Jones of Benton, Kentucky.

     In addition to his parents, Merrit and Shirley Kennedy, Bob was preceded in death by his sister Julie Lewis.

     A memorial service for Bob Kennedy will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Burial will follow in Lindale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 PM to 2 PM at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to your favorite animal rescue organization.
