Billye Louise (Scheppelman) Prather

     Billye Louise Prather, age 58, of Harrisburg, passed away at 1:20 PM, Friday, March 5, 2021 at her residence.

     Billye was born on May 19, 1962 to the late Dolores Pitts.  On December 10, 1987, Billye married Steve Prather, and he preceded her in death on August 5, 1992. She worked as the guest services manager for Hyatt. Billye was a loving mother and grandmother.

     Billye is survived by her daughter, Shauna Sherrod and husband, Joseph of Galatia; sister, Brenda Breitwieser of Harrisburg; brother-in-law, Garvin Cummins of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Tyler Prosser of Galatia; and Emmaleigh Sherrod of Lake of Egypt; niece, Laurie Wheeler and husband, Gabe of Harrisburg; three nephews, Brent Cummins and wife, Ali of Collinsville; Bryce Phillips of St. Louis, Missouri; and Brett Phillips and wife, Tiffany of West Frankfort; four great nieces and 2 great nephews.

    Billye was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Prather; mother, Dolores Scheppelman; and sister, Nancy Cummins.

   Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 2 PM at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev Dewayne Taylor will officiate and burial will follow in Raleigh Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 2 PM at Reed Funeral Chapel. Contributions may be made to American Lung Association.
