Betty Maxine Williams, age 99 of Sycamore, Illinois, formerly of Galatia passed away at 1:35 PM on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at DeKalb County Nursing Home.
Betty was born on March 22, 1927 in Knoxville, Iowa to the late Lawrence and Julia (Lanciol) Coffman. On August 15, 1950 she married Timothy “Tim” Williams and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1995. Betty was a homemaker and she enjoyed reading, especially mystery and romance novels. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Galatia.
Betty is survived by her four children, daughter, Caryn Kittle and husband, Tony of Sycamore, Illinois; son, Lawrence Williams and wife, Gail of Oldsmar, Florida; daughter, Lorene Bunnell of Dwight, Illinois; and daughter, Lavina Stricklin and husband, Tom of Harrisburg, Illinois; Nine grandchildren, Brian Kittle and wife, Jill of Winter Garden, Florida; Andy Kittle and wife, Tonnya of Murrieta, California; Diana Bowers and wife, Kiah of Oldsmar, Florida; Steven Caveness and wife, Sara of Homewood, Illinois; Justin Caveness and wife, Mindy of Fairburg, Illinois; Alicia Pyle and husband, Luke of Carmi, Illinois; Jessica Grinnell and husband, Drake of Marion, Illinois; Rebecca Stricklin and husband, Kevin of Ballwin, Missouri; and Amanda Tapp and husband, Matthew of Morganfield, Kentucky; eleven great grandchildren, Logan Kittle; Finley Kittle; Alex Kittle; Drake Kittle; Ava Bowers; Chloe Bowers; Kaden Caveness; Lily Pyle; Addison Pyle; Hailey Pyle; and Everleigh Grinnell; sister-in-law, Juanita Broyles of Goreville, Illinois; and brother-in-law, Charlie Wiliams of Bloomington, Illinois.
Funeral services for Betty Maxine Williams will be held at 12 PM, on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Rev. Travis Butler will officiate and burial will follow in Webber Campground Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM, on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Stricklin Funeral Home.
