Betsy Evans Obituary

Betsy Ann Evans of Harrisburg, IL passed away Sunday Feb. 23, 2025.  She was well-known in the area for her many talents and loved by many for her shining personality.

Betsy did hair, taught twirling classes, co-owned the gift boutique Bear Hugs n Hearts, and opened her home to many, many people over the years.  She was also the queen of the group Red Hats for God, and she lived her life to the fullest everyday.  An active member of Dorrisville Baptist Church, Betsy performed in many productions as a choir member, actress, and more.  Betsy was most proud of her family.  She loved them unconditionally, and made that abundantly clear with every interaction.  She loved get-togethers, parties, dinner outings, and celebrated every single observable holiday she could.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Austin Kingery, and father, Harold Kingery.  Her husband, Robert "Bob" Evans joined her in eternity only two days after her passing.  She is survived by children Jay Evans and Jann Leverett, grandchildren Brice Evans and wife Athena Evans, Braxton Leverett and wife Stacy Leverett, Bryli Depew and husband Dusty Depew, great-grandchildren Kynli and Kali Depew, Hadley McCormick, and Kaden Leverett, family dog, Sassy, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Dorrisville Baptist Church in the old sanctuary in Harrisburg, IL.  The visitation will be on March 5th at Stricklin Funeral Home at 5-8pm with the funeral service March 6th at Dorrisville Baptist Church at 2pm.

She will have a joint service with Bob Evans.
