Barbara Nell (Nunley) Wallace

     Barbara Nell Wallace, age 85 of Harrisburg, Illinois passed away at 10:55 AM, Friday, February 10, 2023 at Shawnee Rose Care Center surrounded by family.

     Barbara was born on December 4, 1937 in Eldorado, Illinois to the late Fred and Irene (Harrison) Nunley.  On October 5, 1954 she married Leroy Wallace and he survives in Harrisburg. She was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling and flowers.  Barbara was a member of The Church of God in Sturgis, Kentucky.  She was saved when she was fifteen years old and had lived for Christ ever since. Barbara loved to sing and praise the Lord. She was a faithful wife and loving mother of nine children.  Barbara loved to spend time with her kids and grandkids. 

     Barbara is survived by her husband, Rev. Leroy Wallace; daughter, Barbara Potter and husband Willie of Cleveland, Tennessee; daughter, Janice Garrett and husband Jeff of Benton, Kentucky; daughter,    Elizabeth Patterson of Carrier Mills; son, Leroy Wallace, Jr. of Harrisburg; son, Kevin Wallace of Harrisburg; son, Darryl Wallace and wife Grace of Herrin; daughter, Valerie Johnson and husband James of Bradenton, Florida; son, Christopher Wallace and wife Crystal of Willow Springs, Missouri;       nineteen grandchildren, Melinda Kaase, Erin Blankenship, Catrina VanGenderen, Frankie Bethel, Joshua Bethel, Jordon Patterson, Dana Wallace, Matthew Wallace, Kristen Wallace, Sebastian Wallace, Dakota Wallace, Katie Duggins, Brandon Duggins, Tracey Wallace, Katrina Wallace, Rose Wallace, Christopher Wallace, Jacob Wallace, and Ethan Wallace; numerous great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by a son, Terry Wallace, great granddaughter, Charlotte Blankenship, eight siblings, brothers, Fred Jr., Leon, Herbert and Roy, and sisters, Violet, Ernestine, Reta, and Lilly.

    Graveside services will be held at 1 PM, Monday, February 13, 2023 at Wolf Creek Cemetery in Eldorado. Rev. Randy Farthing will officiate.  Condolences for the family may be left on her obituary page at www.stricklinfuneralhome.com.
