Audrey Martin Obituary

Audrey Louella Martin, age 94, of Harrisburg, Illinois, went home to be with her Lord on November 13, 2025.

Audrey was born to William A. and Charlotte (Ledbetter) Stacey and lived a long, full, and joy-filled life. A devoted Christian, she was a proud member of Oasis Community Church of the Nazarene, where her faith shaped everything she did. She loved Jesus deeply, shared kindness freely, and never hesitated to pray for anyone who needed it.

Audrey worked as a beautician in her own shop for 35 years, where she made countless friends and touched many lives with her warm personality and gifted hands. Everyone who knew her loved her—she had a way of making people feel welcomed, cherished, and cared for. Audrey enjoyed many things, especially Jesus, Elvis, and Trump, all of which she talked about with her unmistakable humor and charm.

In her later years, Audrey resided at Saline Care Nursing Home in Harrisburg, Illinois, where she gained many honorary grandchildren and formed deep friendships. She loved them dearly, and they loved her the same. Her kindness, laughter, and big heart made her a bright light in the lives of staff, residents, and visitors alike.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; five of her siblings; her husband, Clifford Martin; her stepdaughter, Dena Martin; and her grandson, Adam Smith.

Audrey is survived by four children, son, Virgil Smith and wife Melody "Joey" Smith of Eldorado; daughter, Sharon Walker and husband Larry of St. John, Indiana; daughter, Patricia Newman and husband John of New Lenox, Illinois; and son, Steve Cox and partner Matt Pryce of Chicago, Illinois; and step-daughter, Pam Melasky of New York. She is also survived by her sister, Louise Paskon of Rosiclare, Illinois. Additionally, she leaves behind a beautiful legacy of 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly and proudly.

Audrey will be remembered for her faith, her laughter, her generosity, and the way she loved her family—both by blood and by heart—without limits.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Oasis Church of the Nazarene in Harrisburg with funeral services to follow at 2:00 pm.  Rev. Gary Clark will officiate and burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery.
