Ann (Evans) Shea

     Ann Shea, age 88, of Harrisburg, passed away at 4:30 PM, Monday, October 23, 2023 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital, surrounded by her family.

     Ann was born on March 31, 1935 in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late Joe and Christina (Thompson) Evans.  On December 23, 1953 she married Billy Lee Shea and he preceded her in death on October 20, 2011.  Ann was a member of Dorrisville Social Brethren Church.  She was a long time Cubs fan and loved watching them play on tv.  Ann enjoyed her “girl’s days out” with her family.  She enjoyed coloring pictures on her phone and listening to the Baptist Hour in the morning.  Ann loved going to church and listening to live gospel music.  Ann’s favorite activity was sitting on the porch watching the kids play on the playground across the street.  She enjoyed accumulating recipes.  Ann was big hearted, fun loving and she enjoyed life.  Ann had a great sense of humor and it was contagious; her family would get tickled at her getting tickled at something.

      Ann is survived by her four children, daughter, Lisa Phipps and husband Corny of Harrisburg; son, Steve Shea and wife Tracy of Harrisburg; son, Mike Shea and wife Dana of Marlow, Oklahoma; daughter, Sheila Hart and husband Keith of Harrisburg; twelve grandchildren, Amber, Brandon, Tiffany, Stephen, Sarah, Shonda, Billy, Thomas, Stacy, Rionna, James and Tazmyra; thirty-one great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her parents and husband, Billy, Ann was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Guthrie, grandson, Joshua, grandson, Timothy, great granddaughter, Emily, sister, Arvella Smith, brother, J.C. Evans, sister, Mildred Roberson, sister, Elsie Peake, sister, Betty Kimble and sister, Mable Bush.

     A Celebration of Life for Ann Shea, will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg.  Rev. Jerry Wells will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 11 AM, Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Stricklin Funeral Home.
