Albert Daniel “Bud” Fredericks Jr., age 86, of Harrisburg, passed away at 5:49 PM, Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital surrounded by his family.
Bud was born on Friday, March 19, 1937 in Ouray, Utah to the late Albert Daniel and Eva Lorrine (Ziller) Fredericks, Sr. His Step-father, John Clements was also a very influential person in his life. On May 7, 1995 he married Ovelee Meler and she survives in Harrisburg. Bud worked as a boss at Kerr McGee Coal Company. He served his country in the United States Navy. Bud was a member of the Elks Lodge of Ouray, Utah. He loved to work around the home, spending his time helping family and others. Bud was always busy. He gave his life to Christ in 1998 and was a devout christian.
In addition to his wife Ovelee, Bud is survived by six children, daughter, April Bonnett and husband Mel of Salt Lake City, Utah; son, Michal Fredericks of Salt Lake City, Utah; son, Jerry Hunt and wife Barbara of Harrisburg; son, David Hunt of Harrisburg; daughter, Lesia Donley and husband Ted of Harrisburg; son, James Hunt of West Frankfort; nine grandchildren, Justin, Brittney, Daniel, Daniel, Joe, Ashley, Rachel, Michael and Kresna; sixteen great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; sister, Jonie Clements of Las Vegas, Nevada and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by a grand-daughter, Trisha; brother, Julius Fredericks; brother, William “Willie” Fredericks and sister, Lorrine Schmidt.
Funeral services for Albert Daniel “Bud” Fredericks, Jr. will be held at 1 PM, Monday, April 24, 2023 at Oasis Community Church. Rev. Gary Clark and Rev. Jerry Williams will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Graveside Military rites will be conducted by the United States Navy, the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM, Monday, April 24, 2023 at Oasis Community Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Oasis Community Church and envelopes will be available at the church.
